Dos and Don’ts – treatment with Botulinum Toxin

Remain upright for the first 2 hours and use the muscles that have been treated more often in the first hour.
Try not to touch the area for the rest of the day.
To wash the face, wash away from the eyes avoiding pressure.
Avoid facial massages or invasive skin procedures for the next 2 weeks.
Do not wear hats for 24 hours.
Avoid alcohol and heat for the next 48 hours.
This includes steam rooms, sun beds, very hot showers and strenuous exercise.

Botulinum Toxin Results

Botulinum Toxin Results take effect within 7-14 days.

Anti-wrinkle injections do not remove deep lines that are present at rest.

Nevertheless, regular treatments these lines can softened and become less noticeable.

Before you consider a botox treatment

The amount of botox used

Botox is a prescription medication.

Treatments are the UK Medicines and Health Regulation Authority (MHRA) licensed dose.

Larger doses ‘Off Licence” have additional cost of £50 if required.

For new customers the ‘licensed dose’ is provided.

Results are evident by day 14.

For this reason, appointment for reviews are booked in for 2 weeks later or by contacting the clinic.

Licensed areas with Botox and Bocouture for treatment are the Frown lines and Crows Feet only. Azzalure has a licence for frown only. Other areas are ‘off licence’.

Botox results will usually take effect from 3 days, up to 10 days.

Results usually last 16 Weeks (4 Months). The optimum point between 3-9 Weeks.

If movement starts to come back this does not mean the botox has ‘worn off’.

It is likely to be decreasing in strength. Consequently, for maximum effect, treatment is due every 12 weeks.
